His other clinical specialties include fractures/nonunion clavicle, fracture-dislocations around the shoulder joint, elbow and wrist, shoulder replacement surgery, treatment of complex fractures of the distal radius, tennis elbow surgery and nerve entrapment release. He also performs arthroscopic and open procedures for sports and degenerative conditions of the knee.

Dr Chan is also a Visiting Orthopaedic Consultant at National University Hospital, Changi General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital, Clinical Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Nanyang Technological University, Master of Science (Biomedical Engineering). He received the Orthopaedic Teaching Excellence Award in 2004 from the National University of Singapore for his contribution to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching.
